Plenty of furniture is sold as modular and only genuinely reconfigures once. The difference is in the details - whether power routing follows the desk or is fixed to the floor, whether partition posts land on a grid that the ceiling and floor also respect, whether the component schedule is documented well enough that someone can order a matching piece in three years. We specify against the second and third reconfiguration, not the first.

For desking and screens, generally yes - that is the point of the system. Partition relocation and anything touching power or data should be done by a competent installer, and we provide the layout documentation and component schedules needed to do it properly.
They can, but only if specified for it. Acoustic performance depends on the panel build-up, the seal at the head and base, and critically on what happens above the ceiling line - a well-rated partition with an open plenum above it performs poorly. We specify the whole build-up, not just the panel.
